rectangular, the polished gold surface applied with jewelled and enamelled charms including gold acorn and laurel wreaths, various animals including a bear with ruby-set eyes and a turquoise-set tortoise, horse-riding and wrestling motifs, as well as inscriptions 'Alda' and 'Ali' on the lid, and a diamond-set Cyrillic 'N' on the reverse, struck to interior with Fabergé in Cyrillic, 56 standard
