In consecutive bottle numbers, straw wrapped, u. 2x3cm, 1x4cm, labels slightly scuffed, capsules slightly scuffed, 1 very slightly nicked on side, 1 slightly sunken cork, 1 slight sign of old seepage, French back labels

Nutty, lanolin nose. Oh, but the taste - absolutely huge, fat, rich, mind-blowing. Sweet greengages - explosive orange zests, allspice and ginger. Gingerbread finish with a final lime sign-off. Tasted again in 2009 at a wonderful dinner in Athens and as superb, and now as ready, as ever. Serena Sutcliffe, MW

The wines in this collection were acquired almost entirely through direct allocations from leading producers’ agents in the UK and Hong Kong, selected with uncompromising attention to authenticity and traceability. Strengthened by the collector’s longstanding relationships and his regular visits to Burgundy and Bordeaux, the cellar reflects two decades of careful sourcing and consistently impeccable provenance.
