Château Quintus 2013
St. Emilion, Grand Cru Classé
80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. 43% new oak. One gets some oak on the nose at the moment, but it is also 'iodé' and savoury. Very full of glycerol on the palate, like a liqueur. Good, well-covered tannic structure. Damsons on the finish, plus the vanillin. The Arrosée property wine now in the blend has added complexity, roundness and more dimension - an entirely happy cohabitation! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
