The Italian designer Renzo Mongiardino (1916-1998) created some of the most important interiors of the postwar period, including those of Gianni Agnelli, Aristotle Onassis, Lee Radziwill and Gianni Versace, and was also a set designer for film and opera.

This side tables are a very famous model made by Mongiardino, a set of two is illustrated in L. Verchère, Renzo Mongiardino Décors et Fantasmagorie, China, 2013, pp.138-139 and another set p. 145.
