Breaking Ground heralds Sotheby's first Fine Art auction in Abu Dhabi, arriving at a defining moment for the city's growing position as a global cultural hub. Timed to coincide with a series of landmark events, including the anticipated opening of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Sotheby's Collectors' Week, and the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the sale reflects the energy and ambition of this transformative period.

Bringing together exceptional works from pivotal moments across art history, the auction features masterpieces by some of the world's most celebrated artists, echoing the vision of Saadiyat Cultural District, which showcases culture across centuries and civilizations.

The sale also highlights the enduring legacy of pioneering regional figures and groundbreaking international artists whose creativity and vision have challenged conventions and forged new paths in art history.

Select highlights will be on view in London from 6-9 November.

Full exhibition will take place in Abu Dhabi from 4-10 December.
