The original of this design was published by the Suigyo Poetry Circle in the late 1820s. The second print is from a large group of surimono made as facsimile reproductions by Tsumura Isakichi of Akashi near Kobe in the 1890s. Four distinctly different groups of such copies have been identified and dubbed Groups A, B, C and D. They were produced both in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; each group has their own characteristics.
