Mount Fuji is viewed from the area of Senju, near the Arakawa River. A man leading his horse glances at the sacred mountain's snowy peak as he passes two fishermen angling in a canal beside a floodgate. The horse's lowered head and neck mirror the slope of Fuji, while the taut lead rein forms an inverted triangle beneath the weight of a small turtle caught on the line, further echoing the mountain's silhouette. The vertical lines of the floodgate flatten the pictorial surface while simultaneously accentuating the spatial recession of the landscape beyond.
