This rare stembowl was used for serving food during the tea ceremony. Compare an identical piece from the same set preserved in the Itsuo Art Museum, Ikeda, illustrated in Masahiko Kawahara, Ko-sometsuke, Monochrome Section, 1977, p. 102, cat. no. 389; and another from the same set published in Zenta Nobuyo, Kosometsuke and Shonzui, Kyoto, 2023, cat. no. 82.
