both of elongated oval shape, the first decorated to all sides with engine-turned graduated pellets around reeded bands, framed by chased rose and leaf borders on a sablé ground, illegible maker's mark, rubbed charge and discharge marks of Henri Clavel (1782-1789), Paris date letter P87, 3 3/4 in., 9.4 cm. wide;

the second decorated with reeded panels surrounded with interlaced acanthus and s-scroll borders alternating with flower sprays en quatre couleurs, the sides and base with matching decoration, the sides further with chased rose vase dividers, Hanau marks including partially rubbed maker's mark FS crowned, 3 1/2 in., 9 cm wide
