rectangular, the lid set with an earlier scalloped enamel plaque painted with fisher boats by a lake with a watermill and and arched bridge in the background, below an oval pale pink enamel vignette painted with the tughra of Mahmud II (1785-1839), against translucent red enamel over quatrefoil and reeded engine-turning, within a floral taille d'épargne enamel frame on a dark blue ground, the outer red enamel ground decorated with gold scrollwork to spandrels, the sides and base similarly decorated around painted flower sprays, apparently unmarked,
