On a lacquered oak base bearing the stamp of the Japanese ébéniste Kichizô Inagaki
The base with an old red-bordered paper label, inscribed in black ink with the inventory number: “BNYC 41”
Presumably on the Paris art market in the 1920s or 1930s (based on the wood base by Kichizô Inagaki)
Acquired by the present owner by the 1940s
