Distilled Spring 1951, bottled Spring 1966 at Stitzel-Weller Distillery, includes original velvet bag, Italian import tax strip adhered around neck, all labels and capsule are faded and stained, tax strip is knicked at the top,

Under the direction of Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle, Stitzel-Weller created some of the most storied and sought-after bourbons in history. Age statements for the whiskey run from a mere 6 to 18 years old, though the 15 and 18 year statements were rare even at the time of bottling in the 1960s, making them vanishingly rare today. This bottle, from a barrel distilled in 1951 and bottled in 1966, is a superlative example of the Van Winkle craft both inside and out, complete with gold vein throughout the bottle.
