Distilled in Fall 1952, bottled Fall 1965 at Stitzel-Weller Distillery, Oklahoma tax stamp adhered to the shoulder of the bottle, neck label torn, front and back labels stained and worn, tax strip very slightly torn, original presentation case worn, included in the case are two non original shot glasses

Old Fitzgerald was the flagship brand of the Stitzel-Weller Distillery, led by Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle. The whiskey came in a variety of ages. While under his management, 'Pappy' Van Winkle refused to bottle Old Fitzgerald at anything less than the domestic requirement of 100 Proof, set out by the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. The Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 made it illegal to label any spirit bonded if it was aged past 8 Years. This was changed in 1958. This 12 Year old bottling is one of the first releases at this age and proof, becoming a catalyst for many others to follow.
