Description
Old Taylor 16 Year Old 100 Proof 1916
Distilled in Spring 1917, bottled in Fall 1932, produced by E. H. Taylor Jr. & Sons Incorporated, Distillery No. 53, Kentucky, original carton worn and slightly damaged
Old Taylor was the core whiskey label of the Old Taylor Distillery, located just outside Frankfort, Kentucky. The legendary Col. E.H. Taylor Jr. established the distillery in the late 1800s after losing control of his Old Fashioned Copper Distillery, today known as Buffalo Trace. When it opened, Old Taylor was state of the art, with up-to-date distilling equipment, manicured gardens and pools dotting the landscape. It continued production through Prohibition, being one of the few distilleries permitted to continue bottling its own whiskey. The whiskey in this bottle was distilled at Old Taylor in 1917 and bottled in 1932.
