Description
6-inch latched dial with double-screwed foliate spandrels, finely matted centre with mock pendulum aperture, subsidiary regulation and strike/silent dials and signed Tho Tompion Londini Fecit, the movement with six latched knopped pillars, chain fusees, pivoted verge escapement with rise and fall regulation, Tompion's quarter repeating operated from either side via interconnecting blued steel levers pivoted on the backplate, striking on a bell and repeating the quarters on a smaller bell, the backplate finely engraved with foliate scrolls, signed as the dial and numbered along the lower edge 376, the Phase 2 case with gilt carrying handle and domed top, foliate door fret and gilt escutcheons, moulded base.
