Description

rectangular, the lid and base formed opaque white enamel panels painted on both sides in green, red and gold cloisonné, the lid representing butterflies above a spray of peonies and other flowers, the base panel elaborately decorated with a greyhound framed by vines with golden grapes, repeated to the interior of the lid, the interior of the base further painted with a small orchestra of five musicians resting on gold scrolls and rocailles, framed by gold strapwork on a green ground, reeded gold mounts with slender thumbpiece, apparently unmarked,
