Heat and lack of rain have produced classic, long-lasting Ornellaia. The grapes were picked between 7 and 20 September and the final assemblage was 84% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Merlot. Classic bouquet, almost 'bordelais', luscious with good acidity - a real keeper and benchmark Ornellaia. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
