Bob Hope was one of Bing's longtime friends in both show business and the golf world. The pair were avid golfers, eventually hosting their own tournaments known casually as "The Hope" and "The Crosby" (today known as the American Express 'Desert Classic' and the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am). Hope's home courses were Lakeside Golf Club in Hollywood, which he shared with Crosby, and Eldorado Country Club in Indian Springs.
