Description
Wooden Frame, Glass
Perhaps there is no Upper Deck sanctioned object more personal than this limited edition Chicago Bulls montage, with Jordan's handprint and signature.
A tegata (手形) is a traditional Japanese handprint, often used as a form of authentication, commemoration, or artistic expression. In sumo wrestling, it serves as a unique signature, where wrestlers imprint their inked hands onto paper, sometimes alongside their autograph, creating cherished memorabilia for fans. Historically, samurai and officials used tegata as identification or travel passes, bearing the mark of their lord as a sign of legitimacy. Whether as a collector’s item, historical artifact, or ceremonial piece, tegata remains a fascinating aspect of Japanese tradition that blends personal identity with artistic representation.
This limited edition work is numbered "3/23" in the bottom right corner. Jordan's left hand print was personally stamped on hand-made Japanese paper and witnessed by an official Upper Deck representative.
The piece is accompanied by a COA from Upper Deck for Jordan's signature and handprint.
