Large chromogenic print, 20 x 16 inches. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Gemini X Command Pilot JOHN YOUNG in blue ink: "John Young / Gemini X CDR” and Gemini X Pilot MICHAEL COLLINS: “Michael Collins / Gemini X Plt."

The Gemini program served as a bridge between the Mercury and Apollo missions, testing technology and engineering to prepare for humankind’s first steps on the Moon. The primary goal of the Gemini X mission was to perform rendezvous and docking tests with the Agena Target Vehicle (ATV).

Gemini X Command Pilot John Young later served as the Command Module Pilot of Apollo 10, and the Commander of Apollo 16. Young is the only astronaut to have flown four different classes of NASA spacecraft: Gemini (as depicted here), the Apollo Command Module, the Apollo Lunar Module, and the Space Shuttle.

Gemini X Pilot Michael Collins later flew as the Command Module Pilot on Apollo 11.
