Vintage NASA chromogenic color photograph, 10 by 8 inches, minor toning. Matted under glass SIGNED BY ALAN SHEPARD, STUART ROOSA, and ED MITCHELL. Additionally SIGNED and INSCRIBED by NASA Deputy Administrator George M. Low: “To Congressman Albert – with best wishes from NASA and the Apollo 14 crew / GEORGE M. LOW.”  

Carl Bert Albert (1908-2000), 46th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1971-1977, Representative, Oklahoma’s 3rd congressional district from 1947 to 1977; by descent.

Commander Alan Shepard stands by the deployed United States flag on the lunar surface during the early moments of the first EVA of the mission. The shadows of the lunar module Antares, LMP Ed Mitchell, and the erectable S-Band Antenna are also visible in the frame. 

Carl Albert served as the 46th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1971-1977, which coincided with Apollo missions 14, 15, 16, and 17. He represented Oklahoma’s 3rd congressional district from 1947-1977.
