Released in 2008, the Air Jordan 2 Retro “Eminem” was created to celebrate the Detroit rapper’s autobiography, The Way I Am, and the song of the same name. Constructed in light grey suede with perforated detailing and textured side panels, the pair features stealth accents and red and white lyric-inspired lettering along the mudguard and ankle.
First previewed by Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg in October 2008, the sneaker was officially released on December 18th, packaged with a matching t-shirt for $110. Distribution was limited to just 313 pairs, a symbolic nod to Detroit’s area code.
