In 2018, Justin Timberlake took the stage as the halftime performer for Super Bowl LII, where he was spotted wearing an unreleased iteration of the Nike Air Jordan 3.
The now-iconic pair featured a Nike Swoosh on the lateral side — a nod to Tinker Hatfield’s original sketches for the Air Jordan 3. The right shoe was notably adorned with “SB LII,” while the left displayed “02.04.18,” referencing the date of the game and Timberlake’s performance.
Immediately following the show, Nike surprised fans with a shock drop of the pair via the SNKRS app. The retail version included a key revision to the collar, replacing the original Super Bowl-related embroidery with standard Nike branding.
Offered in this lot is a rare sample of the JTH Nike Air Jordan 3, complete with the original Super Bowl embroidery and the date of Super Bowl LII on the collar.
