Lot Details

Description

1987 Gibson EDS-1275 white double-neck electric guitar, serial #82097575, owned and played by Steve Clark of Def Leppard.

Dimensions

Guitar: 42 x 16 x 2.25 in

Case: 46.5 x 18 x 5 in

The guitar comes in a blue velvet lined fitted case that still retains the roadie’s identification tape on the side reading “SC, Gibbo D Neck White Def Leppard 82097575.” This guitar also comes with three signed letters of provenance; one from initial recipient Stevie ZeSuicide, one from Phil Collen of Def Leppard along with a digital print photo of him holding the letter, and the final one from Malvin Mortimer, longtime Def Leppard tour manager and Steve Clark’s guitar tech from the years 1982 through 1991.

This custom guitar was given to him by Gibson and was one of two white double necks that he owned. This guitar was gifted by Clark to his friend and neighbor Steve Roberts aka Stevie ZeSuicide, who was a drummer for the U.K. Subs, as well as doing stints in the Exploited and the Damned.
