Dark brown suede jacket with snap closures to fasten, at wrist, and at breast pockets. Wear consistent with aged leather and regular use.
19 in shoulder-to-shoulder, 20 in pit-to-pit, 15 in sleeve. 19.5 in waist, 27.5 in long.
From the collection of Frank Lisciandro. Frank Lisciandro was Morrison’s good friend and author of several books relating to Jim Morrison. Lisciandro received this jacket personally from Jim Morrison. Lisciandro gave it to a friend who then sold it.
Dark brown suede jacket belonging to The Doors lead singer Jim Morrison. Morrison was wearing this jacket while performing on December 9, 1967, when he was arrested on stage.
Backstage before the show, a policeman sprayed him with mace after an argument. The Doors then took the stage. Morrison was later arrested and charged with inciting a riot, indecency, and public obscenity. This arrest took place two years before his second on-stage arrest in 1969 when he was charged with indecent exposure.
