The blue and orange cotton tunic with “Johnny Clift, Paris,” was given by George Harrison to Joseph Gabriele who worked on various projects with George Harrison, John Lennon and Yoko Ono and Paul McCartney.
Gabriel stated:
"The address on the card George Harrison gave to me is for Bhaktivedanta Manor, an estate he donated as a Krishna Temple and spiritual sanctuary. George was very involved with the temple over the years, and with Apple. In regard to provenance, early on in my career I had the pleasure of working with John Lennon & Yoko Ono on a memoir, with Linda McCartney on her book of photographs, and with Paul McCartney on his Liverpool Oratorio.
In 1997, when I was working with The Miracles on The Complete Motown Anthology, George Harrison approached me to work with him on an anthology of his work. During this time, he gave me the tunic as a gift, knowing how much I appreciated the era and history of not only their music but their fashion."
