23 x 15.25 in. Pencil illustration on paper, draft artwork for Genesis' Nursery Cryme. Stamped "Copyright Paul Whitehead / London England" in black ink.
The original pencil drawing for Genesis’ third album “Nursery Cryme, the first album to feature new drummer Phil Collins and guitarist Steve Hacket. The early draft by Paul Whitehead who also designed the covers of Genesis albums Trespass and Foxtrot. This version is very similar to final version which included deep colors.
Album art as a genre was hitting new peaks in the early 1970’s. Progressive rock groups like Genesis were at the forefront of the album art movement. This is the only known surviving artwork for this album.
