A pioneer of color photography, Saul Leiter revisited his images of nude studies made in the 1950s later in his career by enhancing the already painterly qualities of the images with uniquely applied gouache and watercolor. Leiter remained a prolific painter until his death. These vibrant and intimate nude studies embody his multi-disciplinary practice and the lasting impact of the Abstract Expressionist movement in New York felt across media.
