Description
TWELVE O'CLOCK HIGH. Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation, 1949.
UK British Quad poster, linen backed, unframed: 30 x 40 in. (76 x 102 cm).
This rare British poster does not surface very often.
This American war film was adapted from the 1948 novel of the same name by Sy Bartlett and Beirne Lay, Jr. The screenplay was written by Bartlett, Lay and Henry King (uncredited). King also directed the film, which stars Gregory Peck. The film tells the story of the United States Army's Eighth Air Force during their daylight bombing missions over Germany and France during the early days of their involvement in World War II. This film is one of the great war time films, and much valued by actual veterans of the bomber campaign, as a very accurate and real depiction of their experiences.
