Kurt Müllenmeister dates this painting to around 1604, situating it as the only one of its kind before the artist's Prague period. He considers it the pendant to Cow in a landscape, monogrammed and dated 1604, which sold at Koller Auktionen in Vienna, on 26 March 2021, lot 3022, for 128,400 CHF.1
