The arms are those of Le Gendre Nicholas Starkie (1799–1865), an English landowner, who was M.P. for Pontefract from 1826 to 1830. He was married on 23 February 1827 to Anne, daughter of Abraham Chamberlain of Rylstone in Craven, Yorkshire.
