the scrolled arms with foliate carving to the elbows, upholstered throughout in striped blue- and taupe-coloured silk, the turned front legs and outswept back legs raised with brass cappings and castors stamped COPE'S PATENT, both with a pencil inscription to the back rail reading French Esq (?)
