Delia Illesiu Prvacki is a Romanian-born Singaporean who works primarily with clay to produce sculptures and site-specific installations. Her work engages with the history and theoretical discourse of ceramics as a craft, through which she explores subjects such as mining communities, non-renewal resources, archaeology and mythologies. Her recent solo exhibition Continuity, Persistence, Line (2024–2025) at NUS Museum brought together a selection of works made since the 1990s. Prvački has also completed public art projects for numerous private and government clients in Asia such as National University of Singapore, Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Ruttonejee Centre in Hong Kong, among others.

Me—Then and Now is a self-portrait from two moments in the artist’s life: as a young woman ready to embrace the world and challenges in her art practice, and her current self, who feels a sense of empowerment gained through the wisdom of age. She describes the work as a three-dimensional memory, with nods to her personal struggles with scoliosis and her body. The two sculptures are made to be seen in proximity with each other and from all angles.
