inscribed A. Rodin and with the foundry mark Alexis Rudier. Fondeur. Paris.

height: 12.5 cm. 4⅞ in.

Conceived circa 1900-1905; this example cast between 1930 and 1952. The present work is from an edition of 6 to 8 cast by the Alexis Rudier Foundry, Paris in addition to 14 to 17 known examples.


This work will be included in the forthcoming Catalogue Critique de l'œuvre sculpté d'Auguste Rodin being currently prepared by Galerie Brame & Lorenceau under the direction of Jérôme Le Blay under the archive number 2007-1223B.
