Roland Hindmarsh (1922 - 2018) was a renowned British educator and author. He was posted in Calcutta between 1967 and 1970 to develop the English Language Program for the British Council in India. His wife, Lena, met Meera Mukherjee at the Goethe Institut where the artist was exhibiting and went on to form a deep friendship.
