Three Curves with Strings (Gold Mincarlo)
stamped with initials, numbered 7/12, dated 1971 and stamped with London hallmark for 18 carat gold (on a plate attached to the underside of the base), each of the three gold elements stamped with London hallmark for 18 carat gold, Morris Singer Foundry, London, 1971
18 carat gold, on black stone base
height (not including base): 16.5cm.; 6½in.
height (including base): 27cm.; 10½in.
Conceived in 1971 and cast by Morris Singer Foundry, the present work is number 7 from the edition of 12 plus 1 Artist's Cast.
This work will be included in the revised catalogue raisonné of Barbara Hepworth's sculpture being prepared by Dr. Sophie Bowness under the catalogue no. BH 520.
Acquired directly from the Artist by the family of the present owner, 1971, and thence by descent
