supported on a short foot and rising to a foliate rim, the interior painted with a landscape scene depicting pavilions nestled among mountains and trees, with two riders crossing a bridge over a river dotted with five boats, all framed within a band enclosing alternating diaper patterns and a floral scroll border encircling the rim, the floral scroll echoed on the exterior, the base inscribed with a six-character Jiajing mark followed by a fu ('good fortune') character in seal script, Japanese double wood box
