First edition of Aragon’s poems.
25 original color etchings and aquatints in full page by Chagall.
Limitation of 225 copies of Rives vellum (n° 43 of 180). Signed by Aragon and Chagall on the limitation notice.

Aragon’s poems celebrating Chagall and his painting are said to have been the cause of a quarrel, as the poet could not bear that the painter to whom he was giving homage should change his text.
