Provenance
Legends from Château Lafite | The Collection of a Rothschild Family Member | From Private and Ex-Château Cellars. Lots 41-61: From The Private Cellar of Rothschild Family Member:
The second part of the collection originates from the Private Cellar of the same Rothschild family member in France, embodying a lifetime of stewardship and passion for fine wine.
Spanning vintages from 1878 to 1970 and presented in a variety of formats — including a unique Jeroboam of 1924 — these bottles were originally shipped from Lafite many years ago, before being returned to the Château this October to be inspected by Sotheby’s and consequently repacked in newly engraved original wooden cases under the supervision of the château’s technical team.
Each bottle retains its original label and capsule. Bottles that were recorked during the château’s historical or more recent recorking sessions are duly indicated where applicable. All bottles are packed in new engraved original banded wooden cases
