Dr Yu Jianmin, a Chinese doctor living in Germany, has produced illustrations for a number of medical textbooks. After his retirement in 2009, portrait painting in particular became a passion that has given rise to numerous paintings and drawings: Pope Benedict XVI and Queen Elizabeth II are among the people portrayed individually from photographs, as are former US presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
