Hedi Slimane's F System series was presented by Comme des Garçons at London's Dover Street Market in 2007.
The seven models designed by Hedi Slimane were handmade in a limited edition of 10 pieces.
Commenting on the collection, Hedi Slimane explains:
“Throughout history, furniture has been a medium for Collective identity.
Conversations, Indiscrets and Confidents populated the salons of the 19th century, only to disappear in the last century.
Beyond its function, F system formally evokes a dynamic, a convention and a social symbol that has fallen into disuse.
Social etiquette is here reduced to its simplest expression, a posture and a form of archaic sociability”.
