This rare depiction of the goddess Hariti in bronze reveals her seated in lalitasana on a lotus throne, with a child seated on her left knee and touching her breast, holding a fruit in her right hand. For similar iconography from the Pala period, see a black stone example preserved in the Art Institute of Chicago, accession number 1923.317.


Anant Singh is a renowned South African film producer, acclaimed for the 2013 biographical film Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, based on Nelson Mandela's 1994 autobiographical book. He is a member of the International Olympic Committee, where he became Chair of the Communications Commission in 2018.
