Released in 2000 and reissued in 2012, the reference 15202ST perfectly captures the essence of the Royal Oak’s iconic design in a modern context. Retaining the original 39mm dimensions and powered by the same automatic AP Caliber 2121 movement found in the original ref. 5402ST, however this time, contrary to the original model, can be admired through the sapphire caseback. The 15202ST faithfully mirrors its predecessor in nearly every significant way while benefiting from contemporary craftsmanship, quality, and meticulous attention to detail.
Featuring the signature Petite Tapisserie dial and integrated bracelet, the 15202ST serves as a modern counterpart to the legendary ref. 5402ST. This reissue underscores the timeless appeal of the Royal Oak; its near-identical recreation highlights Audemars Piguet’s confidence in the enduring relevance of the original design. Although now succeeded by the ref. 16202ST, which introduces several updates, the 15202ST remains the closest you can get to experiencing the original Royal Oak’s legacy with modern-day refinements.
