Introduced in the mid-1930s, the reference 2508 marks an important step in Rolex’s chronograph development as one of the firm’s earliest two-pusher designs. Elegant and well-proportioned, it reflects the refined character of Rolex’s pre-Oyster production. This yellow gold example, cased by Huguenin Frères, presents a silvered dial with gilt Arabic numerals at 12 and 6, finely shaped feuille hands and neatly balanced registers. The blue outer tachymetre and inner 1–24 scale add clarity and utility, while the discreet Anti-Magnetic designation denotes the period practice of using non-magnetic components to improve reliability.Balanced, understated and historically significant, the reference 2508 remains one of the most attractive and collectable early Rolex chronographs.
