Introduced in 2006, the reference 5396 is an annual calendar iteration of the elegant reference 5296, drawing significant inspiration from Patek Philippe's prestigious history. The case design pays tribute to the graceful and understated lines of mid-20th-century Calatrava models. The dial design is influenced by the vintage reference 3448, featuring a layout of windows and a moon phase display. Instead of the usual date indication around the moon-phases, in the reference 5396, the dial showcases a 24-hour display, while the date is displayed in a dedicated window at 6 o'clock.
After nearly 20 years of its original introduction, the 5396 has imposed itself as a modern icon of Patek Philippe. This version is particularly elegant thanks to its pink gold case combined with a silvered dial.
