This IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar, also known as PPC, embodies for modern era of the manufacture. Indeed, the Calibre 5000 with the 7-day power reserve was introduced in 2000, the year that IWC became part of the Richemont Group.
The perpetual calendar complication technology was developed for IWC by Kurt Klaus. His innovation allowed the calendar to be set through the crown, without using correctors, which represents a true tour de force!
It was first used in 1985 in the Ingenieur and then the Da Vinci models, before being presented in the Portuguese with the Reference IW5021.
For the last 20 years, this model has been one of the most coveted pieces and has become a must have in any watch collection.
The present model elegantly combines a white gold case and grey dial and comes with its guarantee card and presentation case.
