The first Ceinture models, translated from the French as 'Belt', due to their resemblance to a belt buckle, were released initially in the late 1920's.
The crown on these models have been discreetly and securely been set within the flank of the square sided case and are also unusually shaped, octagonal sided rather than with sapphire cabochon making them far easier for the wearer to use.
This well preserved example comes from a distinguished private collection and has most charming light cream Paris dial typical of that period. The bubble back is stamped with two owls, confirming that this piece was made for the French market.
