Often considered to be the pinnacle of Rolex chronograph design, reference 6263 is one of the most recognizable and sought after wristwatches in the realm of vintage watches. The last of the manually wound chronographs, it combined all of the features gained throughout Daytona production, featuring screw-down pushers, acrylic bezel and improved caliber 727.

What sets the present 6263 apart is the tropical patina that the sub-dials have gained over age, with the original black fading to a very attractive marron colour. A very small amount of dials will ever take on the tropical effect, and the ones that do will each age uniquely, as the process is completely natural and therefore affects each differently. Therefore, it can be said that the process of tropicalisation turns each watch into a one-of-a-kind treasure.

Consigned with a large number of service receipts, box and original accessories, this example is very well preserved.
