The reference 3940 is one of the most elegant perpetual calendars from Patek Philippe's collection. With an extensive history, production of this watch started as early as the mid 1980s until 2007. The present example can be identified as the 2nd series of the collection, distinguishable for the lack of accent in the "E" of "GENEVE" text. It also features a clean design on the leap year indication, whereas later examples in the series would feature a cross divider on it. An attractive example for the discerning collector overall.
