Introduced at Baselworld 2015, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time ref. 5524G marked Patek Philippe’s first venture into the realm of pilot’s watches. Drawing inspiration from two pilot watch prototypes made by the brand in the 1930s, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time collection represented a departure from tradition, charting new territory for the renowned manufacturer. While honoring the legacy of early pilot timepieces, the reference 5524G embodies a modern aesthetic and an enhanced user experience.
The striking blue varnished dial, paired with luminous hour markers and hands, ensures optimal readability even in the dark, accentuated by a prominent subsidiary dial at 6 o’clock for the date display. Positioned at 3 and 9 o’clock are apertures indicating home and local times, complete with AM and PM indicators for added convenience. Additionally, the pushers integrated into the case feature cleverly designed locking crowns, guarding against accidental adjustments to the travel time function. Underneath the exhibition caseback, the ref. 5524G houses the caliber 324 S C FUS movement.
We are pleased to offer this lot in overall excellent condition, and complete with its full suite of accessories.
